DARWIN-BALI-LANGKAWI YACHT RALLY

Darwin-Bali-Langkawi Yacht Rally is a unique yachting rally event, which covers 4 (four) countries, 2 (two) continents and over 250 yachts, spanning over 5 (five) months. This rally is a collaborative effort between PassionAsia Sdn Bhd, Sail Malaysia, and Sail Indonesia, which provides passage from Darwin, Australia through the Indonesia Archipelago, and navigates its way towards the Malaysia island destination of Langkawi.

This rally is the largest annual sailing event in Asia, covering a total of approximately 3,000 nautical miles and this event simply captures the unique spirit of adventure and challenge of yachtsmen who circumnavigate the globe by sea. Throughout the course of journey, various points of call were organised where the participants were treated to local culture shows, dinners and exhibitions. This rally is organised in a manner that is free and easy. Participants may elect to participate at one or more organised stops at no additional cost.

Port Dickson has been participating in this event as one of the official point of entry for the rally participants to this country annually since year 2006. These stopovers are jointly organised by the State Government of Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus, Tourism Malaysia, State Tourism Action Council, State Economy Planning Unit, Port Dickson Municipal Council and Admiral Marina & Leisure Club. 100 boats from more than 20 countries have made their stopover in Port Dickson.

For this year’s rally, the yachties will flag off from Darwin to Kupang on 26 July 2008 and expected to arrive in our shore on 26 November 2008. The participants shall depart from Admiral Marina & Leisure Club to their next destination on 30 November 2008.
