The Sepang Circuit is the most spectacular race circuit in the Eastern hemisphere if not the world. Built at a cost of US$120 million, the Sepang Circuit was completed in November 1998. With the first racing event taking place on the 12th December 98. The circuit actually consist of one circuit within another. The main race track being 5.542km & the other option ciruit being 2.805km. Some of the most spectacular features of the circuit are the smooth & sweeping chicane capable of negotiating at speeds in excess of 200kph. The fastest part of the circuit is the straight between T15 and T1 or usually known as the home straight. Capable clocking speed here would be scorching at about 350kph. Ear plugs would be advisable if spectating from these parts of the grandstand. The pits consist of many spectacular features such as built-in team office & conference area with the latest hi-tech gizmo.

The Sepang Circuit is located about 60km from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur and about 15km from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The circuit is linked to the city & the airport with an excellent dual highway system. Travelling by road on the expressway will approximately takes about 40 minutes from the city to the circuit. Street signs are well placed and clearly visible on the highway. Sepang by itself is really a very small and remotely quiet village. Sepang Town is only recently develop with the construction of the new $2.5 billion Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Sepang International Circuit Tours

Circuit tours are available to the public, only with advance notice. Currently unable to provide guided tours for walk-in visitors at the moment. However, visitors can visit the Mall Area and the Welcome Center as it is open to the public.

On some occasions, the circuit may be closed due to private bookings and public holidays. If there is an official event, visitors will be charged an entry fee to enter the Mall Area. Organized tours will not be available during official events.

MALAYSIA NATIONAL AUTOMOBILE MUSEUM

The National Automobile Museum which located at Welcome Centre International Sepang Circuit with exhibition floor plan approximately 7,949 square feet for ground level and 10,577 square feet for first floor.

The ground floor exhibition area exhibits the introduction segment of National Automobile Museum with the history of Malaysia’s transportations development and the early cars of Malaysia . Various collections of cars that been used in Malaysia such as The Brushmobile made in 1904, Ford Speedster in 1923 and Alvis Tourer 1935.

The next segment is the International Sepang Circuit with their yearly event in sports motoring activity such as F1 racing, The Super GT International Series race and MotoGP race. 

The first floor exhibition area, exhibits the Malaysian automotive industry in general. The visitors may know the Malaysia based company in contributing and develop the Malaysia automotive industry consisting DRB-Hicom, PROTON, BUFORI, MODENAS and PERODUA. Various collections of cars and motorcycles from the company exhibit here.
