While you are in KLCC twin tower make sure to visit Aquaria at KLCC – Kuala Lumpur’s first aquarium with over 5,000 marine creatures. Aquaria KLCC has an amazing display of fish, from sand tiger sharks to blue rays and giant arapaimas to gar fish. There are also reptiles such as snakes and lizards on display along with a wide variety of insects. At the entrance there is a special section for visitors to pick up and feel the texture of live corals and star fish.

How to get there:
Located inside Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre which is a 10 minutes walk from the Petronas Twin Towers, it is accessible through the underground interlink from Tower Records in Suria KLCC. To KL Aquaria we walked through an air-conditioned pedestrian walkway at the Centre Court of Suria KLCC to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Located in KLCC, adjacent to the PETRONAS Twin Towers, Aquaria KLCC is a world-class aquarium that showcases animals and various types of colorful marine life species from Malaysia and around the world. The aquarium occupies 60,000 square feet in the Concourse level of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. A visit to the Aquaria KLCC will take you through a journey of discovery in education as well as eco- tourism, supported by the latest technology with a mesmerizing ambience.
The amazing Cownose rays measuring up to 150cm in wingspan. Else where we can only watch them on television There are three shallow pools with swimming creatures where you can touch and catch with your hands. The tunnel underneath the shark-tank (photos below) was impressive. On this travelator, big sharks, sting rays and other rather large fish swooped overhead or just lazily floated past.
Before the main hall is the section called the Jewels of the Jungle with amazing variety of animals found in the tropical region. Green snakes, Malayan Horned toads, tarantulas etc. The main hall contained three main aquariums and a couple of smaller ones.
The first aquarium is a large 20 over feet tall cylindrical aquarium. Inside were variety of fishes. Right below is aquarium with similar fishes and houses a few gigantic tortoises bigger then a person. Slow moving and peaceful, the tortoises do not move much and prefer to stay underwater. Opposite this pool is the fresh water aquarium which contained freshwater fishes. The main attraction is the Giant Arapaimas – the largest fresh water fish in the world.
The main attraction is The Tunnel Undersea Walkway (Underwater Tunnel). This brighter area is where visitor non stop clicking their camera. This RM60 million aquarium featuring some 5,000 aquatic and marine animal exhibits of over 150 different species from Malaysia and around the world.
Boasting of an area spanning two levels and covering over 5,500 sq m, making it the largest in the world, the Aquaria has 19 tanks with various environments to keep and display fishes from various parts of the world.
Showcasing some of the most captivating aquatic life from Malaysia and throughout the world, Aquaria KLCC takes you on an exciting journey from the misty mountains, down the majestic rivers, through the green rainforest to the mighty mangroves until you reach the colourful coral reefs and the ominous deep blue sea.

View the spectacular ocean reef and its inhabitants through a large acrylic window at the
Aquatheater. Witness daily fish feedings as well as death- defying diving sessions with the sharks. The theater is also a prefect venue for private and corporate functions.
Follow the Journey of Water, The adventure comprises of Malaysian terrains which covers the mountainous range to the coastal areas and marine ecosystem. Visitors are transported via the moving walkway into the deep blue sea where all the excited begins. :

2-Jewels of the Jungle
Here, the hidden micro world of the rainforest is unearthed. Witness small jungle creatures through micro theatre window displays. Try to find camouflaged Leaf Frogs in their habitat, while Poison Dart Frogs watch your every move at this exhibit!
Explore the lost river & discover giant catfish as they swim through the Malaysian Rainforest, before being greeted by 2 gigantic Arapaimas from the flooded forest.
Here is where the land meets the sea. From mangroves to coastlines, get a chance to examine baby sharks & even stingrays as they glide across the sandy bottom of the Touch Pool. Feel & touch our exhibits with some help from us.
5-The Living Reef
Similar to a mini coral reef, man-made concrete reef balls can be found here,forming the base for the mounds of multi-coloured hard corals. A colourful symbiotic living environment is created with the help of brightly coloured fishes and a variety of carpet anenome
6-The Living Ocean
Get up-close with some of the oceans’ greatest marine life inside the 90 metre moving walkway underwater tunnel. Find more than 3,000 sea creatures of various shapes and sizes living harmoniously in this simulated natural habitat and a hidden shipwreck colonized by inquisitive reef inhabitants. Don’t miss prized exhibits like the Sand Tiger Sharks, stingrays, eels and more!
Diving with sharks is for the adventurous hearts and the “Weird and Wonderful” is housed in an underwater scientific research station.
