Nowhere else in Malaysia would one be able to see penguin in large comunity and over 200 species aquatic life  than at Underwater World Langkawi, which is also the largest aquarium in Malaysia today. There are over 5000 fishes and other marine life, which are presented in more than 117 specially designed tanks that are arranged along a zoom long passageway. Feeding times for the Tunnel Tank is at 3pm daily, while the one for the Otter pond is at 3.30pm daily.

Underwater World Langkawi is one of the largest marine and fresh water aquaria in South East Asia. Since the start of its operation on 26 August 1995, it has become one of the must visit tourist destinations in Langkawi and has attracted a large number of foreign as well as local tourists.

The concept and theme of Underwater World Langkawi are geared towards Knowledge, Education and Entertainment. It is built to raise awareness on the importance of conserving our precious aquatic life forms, thus creating understanding of the deep and inseparable bond between man and nature.  it  also got the fossil library where we can find unlimited information on underwater Kingdom. Childrens are going to enjoy most.

Underwater World Langkawi is proud to introduce its fascinating attractions – a 60,000 sq. feet new building, housing three ecosystems, tropical rainforest, temperate and sub-antarctic icluding a 200-seat 3D cinema.The Sub-Antarctic Ecosystem Display includes a spectacular “penguinarium” with an underwater tunnel for visitors to view swimming penguins. Other facilities available here include a giftshop, a merchandise centre, a dry seafood centre, Neptune Cafe, Zon Shopping Paradise, Restoran Kg. Siam and ample free parking bays.

By Road
From the North South Expressway (NSE), head north to Kedah and take the Alor Setar Selatan exit (Interchange 177) onto the highway headed to Teluk Kechai and on to Kuala Kedah where you can catch a ferry to Langkawi island. Alternatively, you can also catch ferries from Kuala Perlis further north, accessible via the Jitra Selatan exit (Interchange 181) via Kodiang and Kangar on trunk road K3. This route is longer, at 48km from the NSE exit. You can easily catch a taxi from Kuah Jetty to get to Underwater World, located at Pantai Cenang.
